Gotta say this: if you have a v1, you should back up your SD card.
HOW TO TELL MY RAK’s VERSION?
RAK v1 – lists itself on explorer.helium.com as “Helium Inc (Old)”. No button on the side. Its identity is stored on the SD card, so you really should make a backup of it, in case the card goes bad (clone the SD card). This is the only version of RAK like this. This is why you should know your unit’s version.
RAK v1.5 – lists itself as “Cal-Chip Connected Devices”. No button on the side.
RAK v2 – someone else will have to describe this.
RAK/MNTD – lists itself as “RAKWireless”. Has the MNTD logo printed on it. Has button on the side.
In my opinion, my observations, the WiFi is stronger / has better reception in the v1 and v1.5 units, than in the MNTDs.
